We're partnering with a well-established structural engineering consultancy in New York City that is continuing to grow its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer with 4-7 years of experience who enjoys taking ownership of projects while working alongside experienced engineers on a diverse range of building structures.
You'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from structural analysis and design through construction administration, with the opportunity to work on projects that have a lasting impact across the city.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing building projects
- Design structural systems using steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation elements
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction
- Perform site visits, field investigations, and structural assessments as required
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and technical coordination
- Support junior engineers while continuing to develop your own technical expertise
- Ensure all work complies with NYC Building Code, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and other applicable design standards
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 4-10 years of structural engineering experience
- Experience designing building structures in New York City
- Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, timber, and foundation design
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, SAFE, RISA-3D, or similar
- Experience using Revit and AutoCAD
- PE license or progress toward licensure is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Self-motivated with a desire to continue developing technically and professionally
