About the Role
An established structural engineering consulting firm is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join its Indianapolis office. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects from design through completion while remaining hands-on with structural engineering and working directly with clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural projects from initial design through project closeout.
- Design structural steel connections, building structures, foundations, stairs, and rails.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations in compliance with IBC, ASCE, and AISC standards.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, fabricators, and internal teams.
- Review drawings, calculations, and technical deliverables.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical oversight.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 4+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience managing structural engineering projects.
- Strong background in structural steel and connection design.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Software
Experience with AutoCAD, Mathcad, RAM Elements, RAM Connections, IDEA StatiCa, Trimble Connect, Hilti PROFIS, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
