We are representing a nationally recognized engineering consultancy that specializes in structural investigations, forensic engineering, restoration design, and complex problem-solving within the built environment.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer with 20+ years of experience who is looking to take on a leadership role that combines technical excellence, project management, business development, and mentorship. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading high-profile investigations, rehabilitation projects, and structural consulting assignments while helping to develop the next generation of engineering talent.
What You'll Be Doing
Technical Leadership
- Lead complex structural engineering projects involving investigations, evaluations, repairs, rehabilitation, and restoration of existing structures
- Serve as the structural engineering subject matter expert on multidisciplinary project teams
- Apply advanced engineering judgment to solve challenging technical problems involving structural systems, materials, and performance issues
- Perform structural assessments, failure investigations, condition evaluations, and forensic engineering assignments
- Oversee structural analysis and design for repair, retrofit, and rehabilitation projects
- Review technical reports, calculations, specifications, and client deliverables to ensure the highest quality standards
Project & Client Management
- Manage projects from proposal through completion, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Lead project pursuits, proposals, and business development initiatives
- Coordinate internal and external project teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Manage client expectations while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget
Mentorship & Practice Development
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers
- Share technical knowledge and best practices across project teams
- Support recruiting, training, and professional development initiatives
- Contribute to company-wide technical leadership programs and knowledge-sharing efforts
- Participate in industry organizations, conferences, and technical committees
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
- Master's degree preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Structural Engineer (SE) license highly desirable
- 20+ years of structural engineering experience
- Proven project management and client development experience
- Strong background in structural investigations, forensic engineering, restoration, rehabilitation, or specialty consulting
- Experience evaluating and designing repairs for existing structures
- Expertise with multiple structural materials including:
- Reinforced concrete
- Post-tensioned concrete
- Prestressed and precast concrete
- Structural steel
- Cold-formed steel
- Masonry systems
- Wood structures
- Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills
