A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Design Manager to lead major transit and rail infrastructure pursuits and project delivery efforts throughout the New York metropolitan area. This is an opportunity for a licensed PE to take a visible leadership role overseeing Alternative Project Delivery (APD) pursuits, managing multidisciplinary teams, and delivering transformative transportation projects that shape how people move throughout the region.

• Lead high-profile transit and rail infrastructure projects across the NYC region
• Play a key role in major Design-Build and Alternative Project Delivery pursuits
• Work directly with contractors, agency stakeholders, and executive leadership teams
• Manage multidisciplinary teams through design and construction phases

• Lead structural engineering teams on major transit, rail, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects
• Manage Alternative Project Delivery (APD) pursuits from proposal development through contract award
• Develop technical approaches, design concepts, and cost proposals for major pursuits
• Oversee project delivery across Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build environments
• Coordinate structural design activities with architecture, civil, geotechnical, systems, and construction teams
• Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure technical excellence and compliance
• Implement QA/QC procedures and provide technical oversight to project teams
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients, contractors, agency representatives, and project partners
• Build and maintain relationships with transportation agencies and industry stakeholders
• Mentor and develop structural engineers, supporting both technical and professional growth

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York
• 10+ years of progressive structural engineering experience
• Strong experience leading transit, rail, bridge, or transportation infrastructure projects
• Proven background managing Design-Build and Alternative Project Delivery pursuits
• Thorough understanding of structural design standards including AREMA, AISC, ACI, ASCE, and agency-specific requirements
• Experience working with agencies such as Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and NJ Transit
• Experience with structural analysis software and BIM/CADD platforms
• Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
• Ability to manage multiple pursuits and projects in a fast-paced environment
