A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer to support the delivery of major transportation infrastructure projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. What You'll Be Doing
- Perform structural analysis and design for bridge and transportation structures
- Develop design calculations, specifications, quantities, and construction documents
- Complete finite element modeling, bridge analysis, and load rating calculations
- Design steel and concrete bridge components in accordance with AASHTO LRFD requirements
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and engineering documentation
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including highway, traffic, and geotechnical engineers
- Assist with Design-Build pursuits and development of technical concepts
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, supplier submittals, and field design changes
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate CAD production teams
- Support project delivery from preliminary design through construction
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain in New York
- 5–10 years of bridge design experience
- Experience designing steel and concrete bridge structures
- Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Experience with bridge analysis and design software such as CSI Bridge, LARSA, LEAP Bridge, Bentley OpenBridge, or similar platforms
- Working knowledge of MicroStation and bridge design production workflows
- Familiarity with transportation agency standards and design manuals
- Experience coordinating with agencies such as New York State Department of Transportation, New York City Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work within collaborative project teams
