Land Survey Manager

The Role

We are seeking a licensed Land Survey Manager to join our Survey & Mapping team, supporting a diverse portfolio of land development, infrastructure, and community-focused projects throughout Pennsylvania.

This role combines technical leadership, project management, client engagement, and business development responsibilities, offering the opportunity to oversee complex survey projects from planning through final delivery.

As the licensed surveyor of record, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of survey deliverables, mentoring field and office staff, managing client relationships, and supporting business growth initiatives.

This position is ideal for an experienced survey professional looking to take on a leadership role within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sign and seal survey documents and assume professional responsibility for work prepared under your supervision.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee surveying and mapping projects.
  • Lead and mentor survey staff and field crews, providing technical guidance and reviewing work products.
  • Manage boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, record maps, and related survey deliverables.
  • Coordinate field operations utilizing GPS/GNSS technology, robotic total stations, and conventional survey methods.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Support proposal preparation, business development initiatives, and project pursuits.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of survey deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and other multidisciplinary project teams.

Requirements

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Pennsylvania
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive land surveying experience.
  • Strong knowledge of boundary surveying principles, ALTA/NSPS surveys, record maps, and survey regulations.
  • Proficiency with survey processing software and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience using GPS/GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, and conventional surveying techniques.
  • Proven leadership experience managing survey staff, field crews, and project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of local survey laws, safety requirements, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client management skills.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading project teams.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
