Water/Wastewater Engineer | Rochester, NY
Civil and environmental engineering professional with experience designing, managing, and delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Skilled in treatment systems, distribution networks, collection systems, and construction administration, with a strong focus on public infrastructure, regulatory compliance, and sustainable engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage water and wastewater treatment, distribution, and collection system projects from planning through construction.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, utility operators, municipal clients, and stakeholders to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Lead project execution, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, design calculations, specifications, and construction documents.
- Perform construction administration services, including contractor coordination, submittal reviews, pay application reviews, site meetings, punch list development, and project closeout activities.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to clients, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Support business development initiatives through proposal preparation, client relationship management, and pursuit of new project opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced degree beneficial.
- 5+ Years of experience.
- Experience in water and wastewater system design, analysis, and project delivery.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) actively pursuing licensure.
- Proficiency with engineering design software, hydraulic modeling tools, and Autodesk platforms.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications, including Revit, is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and project teams.
- Adaptable and capable of supporting a variety of project types, technical disciplines, and client needs.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
