We’re partnered with a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering firm to find a Project Engineer (Highway/Traffic) to support a strong pipeline of transportation projects across New Jersey.
If you’ve got 4–8 years of roadway design experience, understand NJDOT standards, and want real project exposure with progression toward leadership, this is a strong move.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in delivering highway and roadway projects from design through delivery, working alongside a collaborative, multi-discipline team.
- Lead and contribute to roadway and highway design plans, specs, and cost estimates
- Perform geometric design, grading, and MOT plans
- Coordinate across traffic, structural, environmental, and utility teams
- Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Act as a technical resource for junior engineers
- Engage with clients and public agencies (NJDOT, counties, municipalities)
- Ensure compliance with AASHTO and NJDOT standards
- Support proposals and business development
What They’re Looking For
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- 4–8 years of highway/roadway design experience
- PE (NJ) or close to obtaining
- Experience on county/municipal or federally funded projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation (OpenRoads a plus)
- Strong working knowledge of NJDOT & AASHTO standards
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
