Senior Bridge Engineer

$130,000 - $155,000

Permanent

Long Island, New York

Stop doing back-office design work. Start owning projects.

We’re partnered with a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering firm to hire a Senior Structural Engineer who wants more than just calculations and redlines.

If you’re a NY PE with 7–15 years’ experience and ready to step into a role where you lead projects, work directly with clients, and build real credibility in the NY market, this is that move.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • You’ll lead, not just support
Take ownership of bridge design and inspection work — not sit behind someone else’s markups
  • Strong public-sector exposure
Work on projects with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and MTA
  • Full project lifecycle
From inspection and design through to construction support
  • Stable pipeline, real projects
Backed by long-term agency relationships and consistent infrastructure work
  • Multi-disciplinary environment
Collaborate with in-house civil, structural, and construction teams
  • Clear step into senior-level credibility
Position yourself for PM and leadership progression
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead structural analysis and design for bridge and transportation structures
  • Manage and deliver bridge inspection and rehabilitation assignments
  • Act as Lead Designer on small to mid-sized projects
  • Carry out site investigations and field inspections
  • Support construction phase services, resolving RFIs and field issues
  • Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and technical specs
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
What They’re Looking For
  • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 7–15 years of structural engineering experience
  • New York PE required (NJ PE a plus)
  • Bridge design and/or inspection experience
  • Familiarity with NYCDOT / NYSDOT / NJDOT standards
  • Strong technical grounding in structural design and analysis
  • Experience with structural software + AutoCAD (Revit a plus)
  • Someone who wants to take ownership and grow into leadership

If you’re at the point where your next move needs to elevate your career, not just shift your salary, this is worth a conversation.

Apply directly or reach out for a confidential discussion.
Even if you’re not actively looking, I’ll give you a clear, honest view of how this compares to your current role and where it could take you.
