Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Land Development Project Engineer / Senior Designer to join their growing team in Michigan. In this role, you will lead technical design efforts on land development projects, working alongside civil engineers, project planners, and CAD designers. Projects will involve site development, grading, utility design, stormwater management, and permitting. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer or designer looking to take on more responsibility and grow within an established firm.

Brief Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil design for land development projects.

• Prepare site plans, engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.

• Design grading plans, utilities, drainage, and stormwater management systems.

• Review zoning requirements, site plans, and permitting regulations.

• Prepare permit applications and coordinate with reviewing agencies.

• Collaborate with architects, developers, contractors, and engineering teams.

• Conduct occasional site visits to monitor construction progress.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of civil engineering experience.

• Minimum 3+ years of land development design experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.

• Experience with grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management.

• Knowledge of site plan approvals, zoning, and permitting processes.

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred, but not required.

• P.E. license preferred, but not required.

• K-12 site design experience is a plus.
