Project Architect

£37,500 - £44,000 Plus benefits & flexible working!

Permanent

Sheffield, Yorkshire and the Humber

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Project Architect to join a design-led and growing architectural practice based in Sheffield. Known for delivering an outstanding and diverse portfolio, the studio works across bespoke high-end residential projects, complex refurbishments, and an expanding commercial sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Architect who is ready to take ownership of projects and play a meaningful role within a close-knit, ambitious team. The role offers a level of autonomy and responsibility that is often hard to find in larger practices, making it ideal for someone on the cusp or ambition into stepping into a Senior Architect position.

The Practice

The studio is a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, specialising in unlocking challenging sites and delivering thoughtful, well-resolved design solutions. Their work spans bespoke private homes, sensitive renovations, and increasingly, commercial and industrial schemes including logistics, manufacturing, and re-cladding projects in line with the Building Safety Act.

They foster a dynamic and vibrant supportive culture, with a strong emphasis on flexibility, agile working, and empowering individuals to make a genuine impact on projects and the wider business.

The Role

As a Project Architect, you will take responsibility for leading projects through key stages, working closely with clients, consultants, and the internal team to deliver high-quality, technically robust schemes.

You will have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio, from high-end one-off homes to complex commercial and retrofit developments, often involving sensitive sites or existing buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects across RIBA Stages 3–6, from developed design through to completion
  • Manage day-to-day project delivery, including programme, coordination, and client liaison
  • Produce and oversee high-quality technical drawings and Revit models
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and Building Safety Act requirements
  • Contribute to design development, technical problem-solving, and detailing
  • Attend site visits, inspections, and project meetings
  • Support the continued growth and collaborative culture of the practice

About You

  • ARB registered Architect (or experienced Architectural Technologist considered)
  • 3–5 years post-qualification experience, ideally within a UK-based practice
  • Proven experience leading projects, particularly across RIBA Stages 3–6
  • Strong technical knowledge, including Building Regulations and construction detailing
  • Proficient in Revit (essential)
  • Experience across residential projects (bespoke / high-end / retrofit) and/or commercial schemes
  • Confident communicator with the ability to manage clients and consultants
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy

Why Apply?

  • Opportunity to take real ownership of projects and influence outcomes
  • Work on a high-quality, design-led and technically interesting portfolio
  • Clear progression path toward Senior Architect level
  • Supportive, close-knit team environment
  • Flexible working culture, including home working and agile hours
  • Growing practice with a strong pipeline across multiple sectors

Salary & Benefits

  • £37,500 – £44,000 depending on experience
  • Flexible / hybrid working arrangements
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression
