Celebrating 25 Years Building Careers

This year, Conrad Consulting celebrates 25 years in business.

Founded by Graham Ventham in 2001, what began as a one-man recruitment consultancy has grown into an established specialist business with a presence across the UK and, more recently, the United States - all from our base in the small market town of Framlingham, Suffolk.

In the early days, recruitment looked very different. Relationships were built through conversations, networks were stored in Rolodexes, submissions were sent via post and success came from genuinely understanding both people and markets. Whilst technology, candidate expectations and recruitment tools have evolved dramatically over the last quarter-century, the principles that helped Graham build Conrad remain unchanged.

Relationships Have Always Been at the Heart of the Business

From day one, Graham recognised that recruitment was about far more than matching CVs to job descriptions. Listening, understanding, building trust and maintaining long-term relationships have been fundamental to Conrad's success and continue to shape the way we work today. It's a philosophy embedded throughout the business and one that has helped us build lasting partnerships with clients and candidates alike. Over the years, it has been embraced by generations of Conrad consultants, helping to create a culture built on expertise, trust and long-term relationships.

Many of the professionals we support today have worked with us throughout multiple stages of their careers, while our consultants continue to provide valuable market insight through conversations, salary guides, industry commentary and specialist recruitment expertise.

The business has come a long way since those early days in Suffolk. Today, Graham divides his time between the UK and the US as Conrad continues to expand its presence in key markets on both sides of the Atlantic.

Looking Ahead

Whilst we're proud of the last 25 years, we're even more excited about the future.

We have ambitious plans for growth that we'll be announcing soon. As part of our anniversary celebrations, we're also exploring plans for a special event later this year, bringing together colleagues past and present, clients, candidates and friends of the business to celebrate the journey so far.
